Rancho Zabaco

Single Vineyard Winemaking

The mountaintop Monte Rosso Vineyard overlooking Sonoma Valley is truly unlike any other vineyard. Decomposed volcanic soil creates the red earth between the gnarled vines that were planted generations ago. The vineyard basks in warm sunshine daily, making the cooling breezes from the nearby San Pablo Bay and the Pacific Ocean the only refreshment to the vines. Monte Rosso is made up of steep terraces and soars 1,200 feet in the air. On a clear day atop Monte Rosso, we can spot the Golden Gate Bridge, about 50 miles away.
