Rancho Zabaco

Sonoma Valley Monte Rosso Zinfandel

Description

Our 2007 Monte Rosso Vineyard Zinfandel is a flavorful expression of this legendary Sonoma Valley vineyard. Crushed berry and white pepper notes are matched with sweet aromatics from oak aging. This vineyard’s old vines make the wine age-worthy, with a blend of rich tannins and natural acidity.

Winemaking Notes

The grapes for our 2007 Monte Rosso Zinfandel were hand-sorted and gently destemmed, but not crushed. The grapes were then cold soaked to add color and complexity, followed by fermentation at a maximum temperature of 85°F for approximately 16 days. Following fermentation, this wine spent nine to ten months in 91% French and 9% American oak barrels from esteemed coopers Seguin-Moreau, Vicard, Boutes and Billon.
